Piraeus Bank S.A. announces that during the Shareholders General Meeting on 14.3.2007 a resolution on share capital increase, as part of Piraeus Bank Public Offer to the shareholders of "Marfin Popular Bank Public Co Ltd", was not reached (due to lack of quorum). Therefore, the relevant condition, on which such Public Offer would take effect, was not satisfied.
As a result, the above Public Offer is no longer in force, according to Clauses 14 (2) (b) & (e) on Securities and Cyprus Stock Exchange Regulations 1997 to 2006, as well as to the provisions under Chapter 2 of the Public Offer Document dated 30.1.2007.
