Do I need a foreign exchange account to use the service?
No, the merchant is not required to have a foreign exchange account to use the service. All transactions, whether in euros (€) or another currency, are credited to the commercial account in euros (€).
If I activate DCC, do I have to use it for every transaction with a foreign card?
The customer is the one who will decide in which currency to complete their transaction. The business informs the customer of the available options. From the merchant's perspective, it is not mandatory to use the service.
Does the DCC service work for contactless transactions as well?
No, the service only works for transactions that are made by inserting the card into POS terminals (CHIP & PIN transactions).
I have a Cardlink terminal, can I activate the service?
The DCC service can only be activated on wired or wireless terminals directly provided by epay.
Are there any limitations on currencies/countries?
The service is automatically activated for all Visa, MasterCard, and Maestro cards, whether credit, debit, or prepaid, regardless of the country of issue, with any currency except for the euro (€).
