Replacing Piraeus Mastercard Debit cards with Piraeus Visa Debit / Piraeus Visa Debit II cards

What is the benefit of replacing my Piraeus Mastercard Debit card with a Piraeus Visa Debit / Piraeus Visa Debit II card?

Your new Piraeus Visa Debit / Piraeus Visa Debit II card offers you a range of benefits and services, such as:

  • Participation in loyalty programs (e.g. yellow Rewards Program for enrolled members)
  • Participation in promotions and competitions
  • Payments via digital wallets
  • Card management via Piraeus e-banking / Piraeus app
  • Secure online transactions
  • Transaction conversion into instalments via Piraeus e-banking / Piraeus app

Soon, new services will be added to the above, for which you will be regularly informed and which will help improve your daily transactions.

Do I have to take any action after receiving my card or is it immediately functional?

For security reasons, your new card is not activated and you should proceed to activate it according to the instructions on the cover letter where the card has been affixed. Upon activation of your new Visa card, your Piraeus Mastercard Debit card will be automatically deactivated.

Moreover, you will need to ensure the reconnection of standing orders with your new card, as well as the registration of your new card in Piraeus Bank's digital wallets, in case you have already registered your Piraeus Mastercard Debit in them.

Is there any difference between the old Piraeus Mastercard Debit card and the new Piraeus Visa Debit / Piraeus Visa Debit II card I received?

Your new card has a different card number and retains the same features and functionality as your old card (e.g. linked accounts, contactless transactions, etc.).

Please note that the same Terms and Conditions of the Debit Card Agreement still apply to your new Piraeus Visa Debit / Piraeus Visa Debit II card. These terms (available only in greek) are constantly posted, as updated each time, on the Bank's website.

I had requested not to execute contactless transactions with my old card. Does the same apply to my new card?

Your new card retains the same features and functionality of your existing card. In this case, the usage restriction you had set on your old card is also transferred to your new card.

Please note that the same Terms and Conditions of the Debit Card Agreement continue to apply to your new Piraeus Visa Debit Card / Piraeus Visa Debit II card. These terms are constantly posted, as updated each time, on the Bank's website.

Is there any difference between Piraeus Visa Debit and Piraeus Visa Debit II?

Both products have the same functional features and enjoy the same benefits. Your new Visa Debit II card carries a blue Visa logo, so you can easily distinguish it from your existing Visa Debit card.

You will receive the Piraeus Visa Debit, in replacement of the Mastercard Debit, if you do not hold another debit card product and the Piraeus Visa Debit II if you already hold the Piraeus Visa Debit.

Replacing Piraeus Prepaid Reloadable Card cards with Piraeus Prepaid Visa cards

Are there any changes from the replacement of my Piraeus Prepaid Reloadable Card with a Piraeus Prepaid Visa Card?

Your new card has a different card number and retains the same features and functionality as your old card (e.g. contactless transactions, load – unload limits etc.).

Please note that the same Terms and Conditions of the Prepaid Card Agreement still apply to your new Piraeus Prepaid Visa card. These terms are constantly posted, as updated each time, on the Bank's website.

Activating your card means that you accept the new updated terms of use of your Piraeus Prepaid Visa Card.

Do I have to take any action after receiving my card or is it functional right away?

For security reasons, your new Piraeus Prepaid Visa Card is not activated and you should activate it as soon as possible, because your Piraeus Prepaid Reloadable Card will be automatically cancelled at 15/10/2024 and it will not be available for any transaction.

Please activate your new card following the instructions on the cover letter where the card has been affixed. Upon activation of your new Piraeus Prepaid Visa card, your Piraeus Prepaid Reloadable Card will be automatically deactivated and any remaining available balance of your Piraeus Prepaid Reloadable Card will be automatically transferred to Piraeus Prepaid Visa Card.

Will I be charged for replacing my card?

Your new card will be replaced free of charge if the change is made on a date other than the renewal date.

If the replacement is made on the renewal date, the charge set out in the Terms and Conditions of the Agreement for the Issue and Use of your Prepaid Card will apply. Will I see the new card in my wallet?

Your card number has changed, therefore you will need to re-register your new Piraeus Prepaid Visa Card in your digital wallets, in case you have registered your Piraeus Prepaid Reloadable in them.

What will happen to the available balance I had on my old card?

Any available balance will be transferred from your Piraeus Prepaid Reloadable Card to your new Piraeus Prepaid Visa Card, upon its activation.

Please note that the Piraeus Prepaid Reloadable Card will be automatically cancelled on 15/10/2024 and cannot be used for any transaction. In case the Prepaid Visa Card is not activated by 15/10/2024, any available balance will remain on the Piraeus Prepaid Reloadable Card and you will be able to receive it either by requesting it at a Bank Branch in case you do not wish to keep the Piraeus Prepaid Visa Card, or by activating the Piraeus Prepaid Visa Card that was sent to you and enjoying the benefits of using it.
